If you are currently having sales calls to land clients, but you hate them because they make you nervous and drain your energy, or you’re simply not growing fast enough because they take up too much time, then you’re in the right place.

In this article, I’m sharing how I went from landing 1-2 clients a month from sales calls to selling over chat and signing 3+ clients every single day.

A couple of years ago, as I was trying to scale my business, it became clear to me that one problem I was facing was my sales process and, more specifically, having to take sales calls every single day. At one point, I was doing about 10-15 sales calls a day which just wasn’t scalable. It took too long for me to talk to the number of leads and potential clients who wanted to get more information about my coaching services.

Over time, I started to feel resentful because I would hop on the phone with a potential client, and I knew that we were a good fit pretty immediately, but still the phone conversation went on a long time because I felt like I had to stay on the phone to be polite and helpful. And so, even though we were able to figure out that we were a good fit early on, I still kept the conversation going on the phone, so I didn’t seem rude or abrupt.

And as an introvert, the sales calls were always such an energy suck for me because I always had to be on. And so, every day for me was draining with the amount of sales calls I had to do to try to scale my business. So, I knew my current sales process wasn’t going to be sustainable for me in the long run.

And so what I did was I started learning about this thing called sell-by-chat. Selling by chat is when you have full sales convos from start to finish in your inboxes without having to hop on a sales call even one time. Now, doesn’t that sound nice?

This sell-by-chat strategy was massive for me and was a big part in allowing me to scale my business to $100K+ months. And it’s especially good if you’re a busy entrepreneur and juggle a 9-5, or you have kids that need your attention, have a heavy workload, or you’re an introvert like me, and you just don’t like doing sales calls — if any of this sounds like you, then selling by chat is totally the way to go.

What I want to do now is share a couple of key factors of sell-by-chat to make sure that you’re really successful in transitioning from sales calls to selling exclusively in your inbox.

Before we get started, I want to clarify something. When I talk about selling over chat, this isn’t a spammy strategy that uses bots, it doesn’t require any crazy complicated tech, and it doesn’t use any automation. This method that I’m going to teach you today is just simply having sales conversations in your Facebook inbox, Instagram DMs, in your email inbox, or via text instead of hopping on the phone for a sales call.

Ok, let’s get into it!

1. Make sure that you’re making your value clear immediately.

When we’re selling via chat, it’s super important that you convey your value clearly and right from the start. Because you’re chatting over messages and not the phone, you lose things like tone of voice and verbal queues, and so you need to be very precise and clear from the start.

When I’m having a conversation with you over chat, I want to instantly understand what I’m getting, the value and return on investment, and why I should buy right away.

What I do to convey this in my sell-by-chat conversations is I drop a simple PDF outlining exactly what it looks like for me to coach you. This pdf includes things like what I’m going to do for you, how I’m going to help you, how your business will grow when you invest with me, etc. This PDF is not fancy or branded at all. I just jotted down all the info in Google docs and exported it as PDF. Nice and simple, right? But because it’s so simple, it works super well, and it feels genuine and intimate.

2. Make sure that you don’t get caught in an endless follow-up loop.

When you’re selling over chat, there’s nothing worse when you’re having great conversations with dream potential clients, and then bam, crickets. It’s a ghost town. Unfortunately, this was happening to a lot of my students before they started working with me. They didn’t understand why their leads were ghosting them, and they didn’t know how to follow up properly.

To make sell-by-chat work, you must know how to properly follow up with leads in a genuine, fun, and non-pushy way and actually close the sale.

In my Make Sales In Your Inbox kit, I show you exactly what you need to do to keep people from ghosting you. I also go over how to make sure you don’t get caught in the dreaded follow up loop. This is a crucial step when you’re transitioning to sell by chat because otherwise, you’re going to start all these conversations with people that potentially want to work with you, but if you don’t know how to follow up and close the sale, sell-by-chat will be a big waste of time for you, and you’ll be leaving lots of money on the table.

3. Make sure you’re not cold messaging people.

We don’t do anything sleazy or spammy here – it’s all about talking to people who actually want you to speak with them. It’s having conversations with people who have raised their hand for more info on what your business has to offer.

It’s really important that you know that this strategy doesn’t work if you are just cold messaging 100+ people every day. First of all, this sucks. Who wants to do that every day? I know I don’t. And secondly, this strategy is actually way more effective when you’re talking to people who have raised their hand and want to work with you.

In my Make Sales in Your Inbox kit, I’ll show you a bunch of different ways that you can get your dream clients to raise their hands and literally message you saying that they’re interested in what you have to offer.

The convo will go something like, “Hey Maria! I want to know more about the deets on your business coaching program.” And then, instead of saying, “Let’s hop on a phone call in a week,” by following the scripts that I provide you in the Make Sales in Your Inbox kit, you can go into the sales conversation right away there in your messages. This keeps really really hot leads from going cold and allows you to talk to them in an efficient way and in a way that feels good for everyone.

So here’s my question to you: what if sales could feel as effortless as simple little chats in your inbox?

What if you didn’t have to deal with being really nervous to hop on a sales call, or clearing your schedule, or getting yet another no-show or a call that doesn’t go well? What if you could just have sales conversations with a bunch of people at the same time, and it could feel really really good?

I’ve put together a crash course on everything you need to know about going from selling over the phone to selling via chat. In it, I share all the things I did to go from 1-2 clients a month to 3+ clients a day. This kit includes all my sell-by-chat scripts and templates that I use to close people over the DMs.

Not only that, but I’m going to show you how to get TONS of dreamboat clients reaching out to YOU and raising their hand every single day to learn more about what it would look like to work with you.

I’m also going to teach you how to follow up and close that loop without being overbearing or pushy. I’m going to show you how to get people interested right away in what it is you have to offer, so they’re saying, “Yup, I’m IN. Give me that payment link!”

I’m honestly not sure how long I will make this available at this price point. So if you want to start scaling your business by ditching sales calls and having good meaningful conversations in your inbox, I’d snag it now.
